Students to Scholars takes a unique approach to developing young minds through early intervention in middle school. By identifying promising students, providing programming to support their success, and working with independent schools, S2S creates a bridge between communities with schools, the Boys & Girls Clubs, and families.

Carolina Friends School

Carolina Friends School is a vibrant and inclusive learning community empowering students to think critically, creatively, and independently. Duke School

Duke School takes pride in the fact that students leave with the ability to think independently and critically, and they are prepared to take their place in the global community in which collaboration and strong communication skills are essential. Their students not only master skills of traditional academic disciplines, they also develop a sense of self, community and culture. Duke School graduates are given the tools to confidently solve many types of problems, focus on important details, work cooperatively and resolve conflicts.

Duke School’s community-driven environment provides a creative atmosphere for BGCDOC’s more disciplined and social students.

Durham Academy

Durham Academy is an independent pre-K–12 school founded on academic excellence that empowers students to live moral, happy, productive lives. In the Middle School years, young people undergo a tremendous transformation. Critical connections begin to form in the brain, bodies stretch and change, and children begin to develop habits that will determine the character they will carry into adulthood. At Durham Academy Middle School—serving grades five through eight—we dig into this tremendous period of growth, partnering with families to create a positive atmosphere that fosters individual maturation and sense of place within a community.

Durham Nativity School

Durham Nativity School is a middle schools for boys in grades 5–8, dedicated to providing a nurturing and enriching learning environment along with a comprehensive twelve-year support system. Our aim is to empower students who possess the determination to excel academically, but may lack the means for a high-quality independent school education. By integrating comprehensive academics and growth, we nurture the inherent potential of every child, placing significant emphasis on the value of knowledge, ethical principles, academic competence, self-control, and the cultivation of character. Achieved through the implementation of smaller class sizes, extended school hours, and an enriched academic calendar, our approach is dedicated to instilling a sense of selflessness, shaping the next generation of exemplary individuals, and fostering pioneers within our community.

Triangle Day School
