Our Families

Our families are typically from historically underserved communities in Durham and Chapel Hill who want a different choice for their child’s middle school. They want their children to benefit from schools with small class sizes, individual attention from teachers, a wide variety of academic and extra-curricular offerings, and racial and economic diversity.

Our parents are the backbone of our program. They serve on the Parent Advisory Council to help Students to Scholars support the children in these new school environments and to help us grow.
