About Students to Scholars

Students to Scholars is a free program that has provided Durham and Orange County students for more than seven years with the opportunity to enroll and succeed in local, high-achieving independent middle schools that will prepare them for success on the college preparatory path in high school.

S2S creates a bridge between communities so that promising children will have an opportunity for an excellent education not available in their zip code.

Equity in education to close the opportunity gap for middle school students in Durham and Orange Counties by providing the opportunity for students to attend high achieving independent middle schools during the critical middle school years.

A Community Focus: Building a bridge of access and support with community partners between families from historically underserved communities and independent middle schools.

Supporting promising, ambitious elementary and middle school students to enroll and thrive in independent middle schools so that they are prepared to succeed in any high school they choose and be on the path to college and the future they envision.
